Beirut explosions

Doha, 8, injured her arm in the explosion. "At first I couldn't hear and then everyone was screaming," she remembers. The explosion near Beirut’s main port on 4 August 2020 killed at least 170 people, wounded 6,000, and displaced hundreds of thousands.

With CRS funding (Catholic Relief Services is a US member of the Caritas confederation) , Caritas mobile medical clinics are treating wounded unable to access damaged and overwhelmed hospitals. CRS is supporting Catholic, Orthodox, Sunni, Shia, Evangelical and Alawite voluntary agencies to assist with food, lodging, ambulance services, blood drives, debris removal and home repair.
