Sold as the K9 and Quoris elsewhere, the K900 is Kia's top of the line full-sized luxury offering. It is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Genesis and Equus.
Kia has a reputation as a budget brand in the USA, so there were many skeptics when Kia decided to bring the car to the American market. The sales figures would appear to be on the skeptics' side: just 1300 were sold in its first year. Numbers improved to just over 2500 in 2015, but the car remains a pretty rare sight.
With a starting price right at $50,000, it would seem that consumers are still taking time to get used to the idea of a luxury offering from what they've long known to be an affordable brand. That being said, the K900 is still a great value, with standard features that match those of much pricier machines. We'll have to see if consumers warm to it accordingly.
