Helen Keller: An Ambassador for the Blind and Deaf
This month's library display focuses on the life of Helen Keller and the Blind and Deaf community. April 8 is the anniversary of Helen Keller's "miracle": in March 1887, Anne Sullivan arrives in Alabama as teacher and livelong companion to the "unteachable" Helen Keller. Ms. Sullivan works a "miracle" when she teaches Helen Keller to communicate and in the process brings the Keller family closer to each other.
