Stop, look and listen

The port was surgically placed under the skin on the left side of my chest with the tube under the skin to the right breast. It reminds me of the cesarean pain after our last son was born. If I open my mouth too wide when eating my delicious egg sandwich Scott cooked for me this morning it sends a sharp pain to the port. Small bites only. While talking to my good friend Carol this morning a male cardinal landed in my forsythia and the female landed just above him in the branches of the crab apple tree. It felt like they came to greet me. I feel the presence of those who have passed saying be strong we are here.

I have to thank all of my family and friends who are sending greetings, prayers and being my cheerleaders. Here is the view from my window chair. The birds are now further above in the tree and I can hear the distinct cardinal song as they are calling to each other. Our world is a beautiful place when we stop, look, and listen. I love you all.
