Desolate Tunnel

This gate is just inside the west entrance of the railroad tunnel that runs under Downtown Olympia. There are several inscriptions on the bars, and if you look closely, you can see an empty liquor bottle among the refuse inside. The photo seems to describe the desolation that the many homeless experience. The bars seem to represent a sort of invisible jail that is holding them back. The garbage is like the baggage that each carries from past life experiences and the empty liquor bottle is a reminder of how many are addicted to abusive substances.
