Icing Vase No. 3
While attending college I had a part-time job as a cake decorator. I applied some of these skills in my metalsmithing class during college and came up with some unique items. I also remember helping a friend of mine making some flowers with some decorating tools and clay in a ceramics class. It was so much fun, although I am not sure the professor liked that I helped her with her project. I had forgotten all about those moments until I started working as a part-time decorator again. I mixed some clay the consistency of frosting the best I could, then used it just as I would on a cake. Making a wonderful ruffle affect. After using the raku process, the results were fantastic! The colors are even more beautiful in person. Wonderful black with iridescent colors. Not meant for any kind of food.
