WHISKEY 1 PILL
single 1446 amp. It bolts under a radio... size is 4 inches by 5 inches wide and aprox 2 1/2 inches deep.
On the right side( middle) of this pic is the switchable low pass filter. Its a 3 stage with the cutoff at around 50mhz..
All circuits( except the led driver) are built on pc board, there are no components soldered together like spidewebs. All circuit boards are soldered to the main board . Pill strips are soldered to the mainboard as well. Every circuit except the led driver in the amp is soldered really well to the mainboard for strength. The LED driver circuit is attached to the heatsink and not the main board..
To the left of the low pass filter is the switchable bias circuit board. This board is securly soldered to the mainboard. Nothing fancy here..bias operates in class ab or can be switched out. There is also an indictor LED incorperated into this circuit to give a visual indication the circuit is working. This led can't be seen in this pic but is at the bottomn of the bias pc board.
Toward the rear of the amp just up and left of the bias and input transformer is the rx preamp. Again this is soldered solid to the board. Is just a basic rx pre amp.
