Enjoy It As Us!
machu picchu
i swear, i didn't photoshop my hand on top of the pic. i was there. as i sat there, with my feet dangling, in the last few minutes that machu picchu was open that day, it felt almost like i could touch it. it felt somewhat surreal. at the sametime i knew i was looking at something spectacular. turns out that not too long after it was voted as one of the top ten new wonders of the world.
what was even more interesting was that we got talking to these people there, a group of retired americans that accompanied a scientist on his studies of machu picchu. they were telling us how the guides there were describing stuff that wasn't entirely accurate; that many aspects of the site such as the stones were more precisely cut and more ancient than the general site. i have since forgotten the name of the scientist they mentioned and also what they specifically said, but it was interesting to know that my feelings about the site are shared. it is a mysterious place.
