Saxon is not physically injured but he was attacked by a Blue Heeler over the weekend :-(
Walking on lead along the right hand side of a road, no paths and no houses on that side, before I knew what was happening the heeler was half-way across the road towards us, from the left, and he was calmly but intently running at us, took Saxon around his ear, neck area (he had a lot of slobber, I kept checking for punctures, but haven't found any).
I was yelling, no-one around at all, and nothing around to stop this dog from keeping on at us. I pulled Saxon closer to me to stop him from fighting back, all the while yelling, it was scary, and I'm not one to normally be scared by other dogs, not like this anyway.
I don't know why it didn't persist, we were able to walk away slowly without it following.
I looked back to see him return to his front lawn.
I reported the incident to the council when I got home, because there's no physical injuries they can only just keep it on record, I'll be going and making a statement about the incident later this week.
It took 1/2 hour to get back home, almost got hit by a car that ran a red pedestrian light, and just as we got to our front gate another loose dog came running at us, I scrambled us inside the gate just in time. This dog was a big puppy and had no nasty intentions, and the owner was mortified, but still ...
Public Holiday Weekends, I think I'll stay home next time :-)
