Florida Leatherleaf Slug Close Up!
Believe me, I realize, this is weird and perhaps only interesting to the nerdiest of my flickr friends, definitely not a "warm puppy", but I love it, so whoop, there it is! LOL!
Slugs are fascinating to me. Those top antennae looking parts are basically their eyes. They sense light, and the ones below sense odors, so those are basically it's nostrils.
Slugs are hermaphrodites, so they have both male and female reproductive organs, however they mate with each other, so it's not like they can procreate all on their own.
Not sure if you can see it, but there are little dark dots on those upper antennae looking bits, which look like the pupils of their cool eyes/light sensing parts. I am dorkily fascinated by all life forms, especially us humans! LOL!
Slugs are not really bugs, they are gastropod molluscs, but I put them in my bug set anyway. I doubt I will ever have enough photos of gastropod mollucs to create a set, but then never say, never, LOL!
Hugs and thanks for viewing! =o)
