Florida Leatherleaf Slug, (Leidyula floridana)!

This slug could have gone around the piece of bark for sure, but instead just slid on over. I got sort of a time lapse of the event, and then it went into the mulch and blended in splendidly.

 

Slugs are fascinating to me. Those top antennae looking parts are basically their eyes. They sense light, and the ones below sense odors, so those are basically it's nostrils.

 

Slugs are hermaphrodites, so they have both male and female reproductive organs, however they mate with each other, so it's not like they can procreate all on their own.

 

They are not really bugs, they are gastropod molluscs, but I put them in my bug set anyway. I doubt I will ever have enough photos of gastropod mollucs to create a set, but then never say, never, LOL!
