Smiling Gator Lounging

This contented Florida alligator was shot from a canoe on the Hillsborough River, Hillsborough County, FL. He was about 7 feet long, but fairly young compared to some of the other wide, thick mammoths we saw on the trip. The river was high, and had a lot of obstacles from recent storms at the time, so we got very close to these sleepy gators to get around fallen trees, etc. Literally could have touched a couple of them, thank goodness their heads were facing the other direction. I higly recommend this canoe trip. My brother-in-law captured two barn owls, as well, very cool. There are just tons of Florida Flora and Fauna to capture on this trip. =o)
