The Northern provinces of Mozambique, having lost the civil war, now represent some of the least developed regions in one of the poorest countries in the world. Nampula, The City In The North, is the third largest city in Mozambique, and also among the most dangerous. Foreign direct investments (FDI), and Non-Government Organizations (NGO) are largely responsible for the rapid development, but at the cost of the exploitation of Mozambique's rich natural resources. Still, I loved this city, it's geography, my community in the city. A bar sits atop the city where'd I'd meet friends for a Manica or Impala beer and watch the afternoon sunset beyond the distant mountains.
