Can't beet this! [Get Pushed Round 14]

This image is for the group Get Pushed where you are paired with a partner and "pushed" outside of your comfort zone as a photographer. For Round 14, I was paired with kendall bouchlas.

 

Here is her challenge to me: "Love the photos in your stream! I was thinking for this challenge you could try a food shot. Hope you enjoy the challenge!"

 

I have a lot of pie photos, but that's pretty much the extent of my food photography. So I decided to do something different, and access my inner beet...or more accurately, access some pickled beets (homemade by my best friend Victor's dad). About a million shots later, this is the one I landed on.
