NCP2346
Jungle net. This net, devised by the Jungle Experimental Station, Mobile Force, P.C.D., is made of nylon cord. It weighs 19 ounces. A soldier can sleep on this net and so keep out of water that may be in the trench. [Note how the soldier is covered head to foot. Other photos in the series show mosquito netting in place, and describe the gloves being worn here. Elastic kept the gloves close to the skin. Future modifications added a loop to the sleeve to insert the thumb into, thereby keeping the glove from slipping and exposing skin.] World War 2. Selected by Kathleen.
