Starfield

My attempt to photograph a small spur of stellar light protruding from the milky way. Even 10 miles outside of Bakersfield the sky is badly light polluted.

 

Captured on my Canon 20d f/1.8 50mm prime lens with a composite of a dozen or so images.

 

I tired to keep the individual images short to keep the stars from streaking, 4 seconds or so was about as long as I could go. Which caused me to have to use iso 1600 or 3200... even at F/1.8. Causing lots of noise. Uses multiple imagines did help cut the noise down however.

 

There is a reason specialized equipment is used for this sort of thing. But at least I tried.
