Safety first, "Crushy"

Here's a 1930s or early 40s license plate topper for Orange-Crush. Before bumper stickers caught on, the topper was king. Little metal tabs, often advising other drivers to practice safe driving, soft drinks (as in this case) Cities that were visited, sports teams, oil or gas companies, or simple novelty messages to poor driving habits of other motorists. All of which are fairly rare and can fetch many "simoleons."

 

Sadly, this topper isn't in my collection, however I do hope to find one for my car, eventually. Though, I'm sure I'd have to shell out for it... Dearly.
