Cobalt Slip Cups 2
A Duo-Cast series of porcelain cups that feature a semi matte un-glazed cobalt porcelain exterior and a white high gloss white porcelain interior. These great functional cups are created using a tinted porcelain, with a traditional ceramic pigment, cobalt. Cobalt has been famous for centuries because of it's deep blue hues.
The individual cups are cast in two layers with two different porcelains to give this great bold effect. Moulded off a hand turned model from our plaster lathe, the two cups are designed to be perfect nesting buddies. The form is simple and playful, stack-able and totally functional too.
The smaller cup is 8.5 (w) x 5.5 cm (h) with the larger cup, or bowl measuring 10.5 (w) 6.5 (h)
The cups are durable, dishwasher safe and foodsafe. The outside cobalt layer is fully vitrified porcelain and will not satin or leach.
