POPPY & LUPINE SKETCH

CALIFORNIA POPPY & LUPINE MEMORIES

This is a quick sketch of a memory of the foothills and roadsides of California.

It was a breathtaking experience sometimes to come around a bend in the road and find a sight like this for as far as you could see.

These are ''real'' California Poppy'' colors...Orange/Gold....and mixed with bright Blue/Purple Lupine it is a spectacular sight.

Seems that Nature does a pretty good job of combining colors...:)

They can be found along the highways and byways in California, and especially in the Antelope Valley around Lancaster where a Poppy Festival is held, and the Tehachapi Mountains has glorious displays of them, and I think more Lupine with them in the Tehachapi area.

I did this painting with Ink, Watercolor, & Neocolor Wax Pastels...:)
