Transit Mode

The surface scanning drone is usually deployed from a high altitude base station via parachute. Upon landing, it is reconfigured into 'prowl mode'. When the mission is completed (or if the cooling unit destabilizes), the drone reconfigures into transit mode and inflates a balloon, which lifts it back to the base station for repair or redeployment.
