Arrowhead's Arrowhead
Heading south at Grasston, Amtrak's Arrowhead has DM&IR "Arrowhead" SD9s 130-129 leading on Feb. 5, 1977. This was when BN was banning Amtrak SDP40F locomotives after a few derailments, and Amtrak had to move other locomotives to main line trains. The SD9s had steam generators and could move at 60 mph, the speed on the line for passenger trains, so they worked out well.
