Farewell to Park Junction Tower

The former Minnesota Transfer Park Junction Tower which was moved to the Minnesota State Fair in 1975 was torn down this week as part of a remodel of the Fair's Heritage Square. To mark the occasion, here is a shot of the boarded up tower, which sat at the crossing of the Minnesota Transfer and the Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern in Minneapolis. An eastbound Rock Island transfer is passing the tower on Jan. 2, 1975.
