resolution resolved...
For probably the first time in my life, I made a year-long resolution which I actually KEPT!
All. Year. Long!!!
I've made other running goals in 2010 (half marathon) and 2011 (full marathon; mini triathlon), BUT not ones that carried throughout the entire calendar year. Now, be warned that most of these 5Ks were held in early morning hours...and I am way NOT a morning person so my puffy eyes and groggy smiles are not exactly Kodak-moment worthy, but I was certainly going to document this year with pictures as proof (Todd's the BEST for playing the role of personal photographer; and thanks Emily/Judy for letting me steal your Dogwood ones)!! Now that it's over, I can actually say that it was kind of, sort of, maybe a little bit fun(?)...at least the 5Ks that involved hotel stays and dinners out the night before were fun anyway (hee-hee!). I'm certainly no speed demon; my times didn't improve steadily through the year (though each of these courses was very unique in its own right so it's kind of difficult to really compare); and there was not even a bit of weight loss, BUT I finished them all! I've never been so happy to see a year come to an end (hee-hee...just kidding!). Hallelujah, it's 2013!! Happy belated New Year! ;-)
