Easy Rider
Adrian out for a ride.
I had borrowed a friend's 300mm 2.8 lens for the 2009 Rexall Edmonton Indy, I was returning the lens the next day; so I wanted to play with it some more before returning it.
Earlier in the summer, my son bought a 1983 Honda Shadow 750. I wanted to get a shot of him riding before he would have to put the bike away for the year.
I ended up taking over 50 pictures before I was happy with this one. There were lots of parked vehicles on the street he was riding on. Plus there was another street between where my son was riding and where I was standing. I had other images that were pretty good, but had undesirable vehicles or objects in the picture.
It was getting late, around 7:45pm when this was taken. Adrian was riding towards the west, the evening sun came off the headlight and the front fender nicely.
Exposed at 1/45 of a second at f.13 at 300mm (450mm equivalent), at ISO-400 with a 3.0x Neutral Density filter in the lens. The rig was mounted onto a Manfrotto 055X Pro and 488RC2 via the 300mm tripod mount.
