Banff Deer 1

We were just leaving for the Sunshine Ski Village when I noticed the deer. While everyone was waiting for me in our rented van, I changed lens and slowly followed the deer. I only had these slip on Merrel shoes on while walking through the snow. Because we were suppose to head off to the slopes right away, I didn't even have gloves on.

After a few minutes, my hands were shivering and my feet were frozen. I had to up the ISO to 400, I was shaking so badly. I found a tree to brace myself against as I knew I didn't have too much time left. I calmed myself, took a deep breath and steadied the 80-200 as best as I could and came away with this image.

Exposured at 1/125 of a second, f2.8 at 200mm (300mm equivalent), Centre weighted metering, +2/3EV, ISO400 hand held. Uncropped image.
