Let The Good Times Roll!
In preparation of our yearly Backyard Harvest Fest for our backyard visitors, we started setting the arena bit by bit, slowing putting out some of the decorations each day. Slow and steady wins the race, and this little squirrel shows her approval of our newest tactic.
As some of you may know, squirrels are big scaredy-cats! They don't take to change, and new things are very frightening, even if the food is clearly visible! As such, we've learned if you put out things slowly, the scaredy-cats seem to get over their fear quicker than when we'd set up the entire arena in one day.
I mean, what's more terrifying than going to bed on day when everything is perfectly normal, and when you wake up the next morning the yard is full of pumpkins, gourds, jack-o-lanterns, Indian Corn, Goodie Bowls and just all kinds of scary stuff!?!
