Aging Gracefully
We took a long overdue trip to one of our favorite nature centers this past weekend. Our first stop was the Lotus Pond, a favorite spot during the spring and summer months when the lotus blooms are towering, and the water lilies are abundant.
This trip, either we were too late in the season, or the excessive heat we've had this year had taken its toll on the Lotus Pond. The only signs of the Lotus flowers were plenty of seedheads, like this one, in various stages of aging.
Still, we took in the beauty of what was left, taking lots of photos in hopes of a few keepers. And there were a few, so over the next week or so, that'll be my main focus.
