It's The Little Things on the Death Star
Stormtrooper Bruce prides himself on being a high octane kind of guy but sometimes keeping up with the Emperor’s nephew is like a 24/7 non-stop, action filled, transporter wreck, sugar high. He’s not even sure what that means but it can drain your energy, your body, your soul and your mind if you let it. And this morning STB is feeling drained.
STB: Sorry, 007, change of plans. Today were playing Pretend. As in pretend the ship has been invaded with scary monsters so we can’t leave the room. And we have to be quiet and use our inside voice so the monsters won’t find us and eat us.
007: Oh, cool! I get it. In that case, I have an announcement to make. I am now going to be Ripley. And don’t worry Unka D, I’ll keep you safe.
STB: Oh, well... that went better than expected! Then I’ll finish reading the paper to see if there’s any news about the monsters.
Ripley: OK. I’ll just discuss an escape plan with the crew here.
STB: Finish your breakfast. You can watch cartoons for the rest of the day if you want to.
Ripley: Cool beans! Kane, Parker and Dallas want to know if they can have a donut?
STB: Yeah, sure. Whatever.
Ripley: If we’re extra quiet, will you read to us? We’d really like you to read book three again. We want to know what happens to Scabbers?
STB: Yeah, sure. Whatever.
Ripley: You see Dallas, I told you he’d read to us. He’s the bestest Unka ever.
STB: Huh? We're not even 10 minutes into lockdown and you already have imaginary friends? That was fast!
Ripley: They’re not pretend. They’re real! I told you about them the other day.
STB: Oh, um... OK, but last night they were Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod. And before that they were Rick, Carl and Michonne. But that’s OK, it’s the little things that make life more interesting. So you can have your little pretend friends, and I’ll have another cup of coffee.
Ripley: Dallas says he wants a cup of coffee, too.
