Polypore Mushroom

Reclamation of a tree stump. Yes, there was fungus among us. Not sure of the true ID for this. My ID book shows it to be polyfore, shelf mushroom but beyond that there's no telling.

 

I've always liked this kind of mushroom because it reminds me of a cross cut of a multilayered geode.
