Life's Lessons

It has been an exciting summer this year to see juvenile Red-headed Woodpeckers at my feeders on a regular basis. I was thrilled to pieces when I was taking pictures of one of them at this seed cake feeder when the adult showed up and they actually shared the feeder for quite some time.

Since they are otherwise always chasing each other off when a second one approaches, I can only assume this adult is the parent of this juvenile.

**Please note there is a series of photos on the first comments page that go along with this main capture.
