Horton Pond

The early hours give light to the surrounding beauty as seen anew each day, sometimes in a clam, but often in an array of bursting colors. I particularly like the low-lying fog that holds to the trees and water giving an alluring glimpse of things to come. In this picture, Pat captured sunrise at the old Horton Pond. This pond lies in the Oregon Coast Range Mountains and was used as a holding pond for hand cut evergreen trees at the turn of the century.
