Mausoleum of Seydina Limamou Laye on Yoff beach in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. He was a holy figure and founder of the Senegalese Islamic Brotherhood Layene.

In 1884 he declared himself to be the Mahdi. This caused controversy with the French and many orthodox Muslims. His message emphasized prayer, alms, social justice and cleanliness.
