Optimised View

I've been meaning to get up early and visit this stone circle - which is not too far from my home - for a long long time now, and this morning I finally got round to it.

Bitterly cold but a fine morning nonetheless, and a couple of other hardy souls with the same idea were out there too.

For me this is the best view of this ancient monument as in all other directions, signs of modern life intrude too much. Unfortunately it is facing directly into the sun and that plays havoc with the exposure. Could really do with getting Singh-Ray reverse GND. Or of course I could make it an evening shot with the sun behind me. Another day maybe.

Followed by a great bacon butty in Keswick and then on to Lodore Falls for more photo's. That's what I call a good Saturday morning.
