la grotta di Zeus - the cave of Zeus
il desiderio di visitare la grotta che aveva visto la nascita di Zeus era troppo forte, così per qualche ora ho dovuto lasciare il mare. La grotta si trova sul monte Ida e per raggiungerla bisogna arrampicarsi su per i viottoli molto ripidi e sconnessi che l'automobile non può percorrere. Anche qui ci sono dei poveri muli, ma, almeno nel giorno della mia ascesa al monte, non sono stati molto sfruttati, fra l'andata e il ritorno ho visto solo due bambini in groppa ad uno stanco animale. La grotta è grande e profonda ed i gradini costruiti per facilitare l'accesso sono molto scivolosi causa la forte umidità. Ho visto un grosso turista americano sdrucciolare rovinosamente per un bel pò di gradini, la sua caduta è stata fortunosamente fermata dalle inferriate poste ai lati lungo tutto il percorso.
