On my first day in Recife, tired from the long trip, dazzled by the amazing beach right under my beautiful balcony, I went down stopping right in front of the hotel, I lay down on a deckchair of one of the many shacks availables to bathers and drinking 3 or 4 of its tasty and fresh coconuts. I swimmed more times and took the previous photos. Only the following day I thought to visit the endless beach and I noticed this warning sign (then I saw that there are many of them, 100 or 200 meters apart from each other)
So finally I understood that the whole beach is surrounded and protected by a very long reef, but sometimes, during the high tide, some hungry shark can enter into the bathers' area

Nel mio primo giorno a Recife, stanco del lungo viaggio e abbagliato dalla splendida spiaggia proprio sotto al balcone del mio hotel, ero sceso e m'ero sistemato di fronte all'albergo. M'ero steso su una sdraio di una delle tante baracche a disposizione dei bagnanti, m'ero fatto parecchie nuotate, consumato 3 o 4 noci di cocco e scattato le foto che avete già visto. Solo nel giorno successivo ho voluto visitare un pò l'interminabile spiaggia ed ho notato questo cartello (poi ho visto che ce ne sono molti, tutti uguali, a distanza di 200 o 300 metri uno dall'altro). Così finalmente ho capito che tutta la spiaggia è circondata e protetta da una lunghissima scogliera, ma talvolta, durante l'alta marea, qualche squalo affamato riesce ad entrare nelle acque piene di bagnanti
