Just An Old Sweet Song Keeps Georgia on My Mind~Ray Charles Memorial (Roadside America GA Bucket List Item)
On a recent visit to Albany, GA with one of best friends (also Flickr friend), Tammy Kwan, we went to several places of interest there, and that I had really been wanting to go see. Ray Charles was born in Albany, Georgia. This statue slowly rotates and his music plays out into the plaza as it does. Of course being a Georgian, his version of Georgia on My Mind is a favorite and our state song, adopted in 1979.
