Held Against the City

They sat at the harbour’s edge as the light softened,

the city rising behind them in glass and quiet glow.

He leaned in. She leaned back.

Shoulders touched. Breaths matched.

but they held to each other—

as if the evening had been made

for this one small closeness,

and Hong Kong, for a moment,

existed only to frame it.
