04 Units Front
Nicknamed "Scarecrows" by frame pilots due to its gangly appearance, this particular line of Units operated under the theory that lighter, angled chest armor plates could be effective when paired with a minimal, narrow profile when facing the enemy.
The doctrine met with mixed results, and later "Scarecrow" Units featured an extended armor baffle added to the faceplate to better help shield the pilot. However, there was little that could be done to remedy the cramped cockpit, which could be a serious hassle for larger pilots.
