Metamorphs

Babbling Torrenteer (Hyloscirtus alytolylax) - Buenaventura Reserve, Ecuador

At first I thought these were the froglets of some sort of glassfrog however now I think they are the froglets of some sort of Hylid frog, most likely Hyloscirtus alytolylax. Many of these small metamorphs were leaving the nearby river and climbing up onto the vegetation. The lower individual in this photo seems to have matured a tad bit faster than its sibling or perhaps its just a little older, it has already absorbed its tail. These frogs are transitioning from the larval tadpole stage to froglets, they have managed to survive various hazards in their previous habitat but still face many new ones in their terrestrial stage.
