The Dragon's Chin

This is what the dragonsnake's chin looks like, the strange scales all along the length of its body are strange but apparent, I found the scales on its chin (as well as its head in general) to be quite interesting too. I know I have never seen another snake in person with these sort of fine uniform scales on the chin.

 

Apparently Xenodermatids diverged from the other colubroids long ago and are the most distantly related group to all the rest. This may be part of the reason this species looks so different from the others.
