Passaic River crossing
Newark Penn Station is located close to Passaic River, crossed by the substantial lifting truss Dock Bridge. This was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1935. It is some years since the span was lifted for a passing vessel, but the structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Place. A northbound Amtrak Acela train is about to rumble its way across.
