Ashmolean Museum

One of the world’s oldest university museums, founded in 1683 and featuring art and archeology. It originally housed the curiosities collected by Elias Ashmole, which he donated to the University of Oxford in 1677. The museum is located in Beaumont Street and is housed in a Neo-Classical building that was completed in 1845 to the designs of Charles Cockerell.
