Mirror, mirror
My attempt at being arty when I photographed the clouds that were mirrored in the City of London tower that was then known as the Commercial Union Building. Completed in 1969, its modernist international design was inspired by the work of Mies van der Rohe. The building survives today, now known simply as St. Helen’s.
At the time, I was trying to raise my photographic standards, having just purchased a lavishly-illustrated volume by John Hedgecoe, Professor of Photography at the Royal College of Art.
