Estoril whimsy
The Forte da Cruz, overlooking Tamariz Beach in Estoril. Its origins date back to the 17th century, when it was built as part of a defensive line of forts. It was bought by a wealthy industrialist in 1892, who commissioned the Italian architect Cesar Ianz to transform it into a luxury Villa. The Forte da Cruz is today a popular venue for weddings.
