Snell Isle Apartments
Built in the 1920s in the most extravagant Mediterranean Revival style, developer C. Perry Snell offered Snell Isle Apartments to the rich northerners he was hoping to lure as short-term accommodation while their mansions were being built. A total of 14 apartments became available from 1926, clustered around a Spanish-style courtyard. It is recorded that the apartments were expensively furnished, each having a Steinway piano.
