Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PTSA) today launched its long-awaited SunRunner bus rapid transit (BRT) service that links downtown St. Pete with St. Pete Beach, which are six miles apart. Using a dedicated fleet of Gillig hybrid buses, the service will be free to ride for its first six months. All the stops along the route feature special artwork on the glazed panels. Passengers gather at the downtown stop at 5th Street N to try out the new service.
