BTV arrival

Being guided towards Gate 8 at Burlington International Airport (BTV) is incoming United Airlines flight UA2085 from Washington Dulles (IAD), featuring a Boeing 737-700. This would return to IAD with us on board, the first stage of our return home to TPA.

Ever since UAL had violently bumped a blameless passenger off one of its flights in 2017, to make way for a pilot heading to connect with another UAL flight, United has been on my no-fly list. For this Vermont trip, I had reluctantly chosen UAL for the first time in all these years. The fares were expensive. All flights were on time, gate agents and flight attendants were all very civil, but the seat comfort was abysmal - just 17-inches width, and a seat pitch of a mere 30 inches. Added to which the United Terminal D at Dulles International where we transferred had as much charm as a Greyhound Bus Depot. My wife and (plus the passenger alongside us) rated our flights as a form of torture that we gladly escaped, and we are not obese. We won’t be rushing back to United Airlines.
