The façade of the former Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (known also as the Communipaw Terminal). Now incorporated into the Liberty State Park, Jersey City, the terminal was built in 1889. Until closure in April 1967, thousands of commuters passed through the terminal each day, transferring to ferries bound for Manhattan. The head house and train shed remain intact, and visitors can depart from here to nearby Ellis Island and Liberty Island.
