Emerging from the subterranean labyrinth that is New York Penn station, the first sight that greeted me from across the road was the rather basic FlixBus terminal. One of the MCI coaches used on FlixBus services was duly recorded.

It quickly became the leading operator of long-distance bus services in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, and FlixBus first entered the US market in 2018 - a market which it is now to dominate, followings its acquisition of Greyhound the day after I took this view.
