A dome on each corner

Built in 1872 as the offices of Hull Dock Company, the triangular building fronts Victoria Square and today houses Hull’s Maritime Museum. Many of my first schoolboy photographs feature Hull’s busy docks of the late-1960s, and I used to visit the old Dock Offices to obtain the necessary photography permit. I signed a pledge that my photographs would not be used for commercial purposes. If the dock officials had seen the Kodak Bantam camera that I was using at the time, they would have surely laughed me out of the building.
